The Money Map

The Money MapIf you’ve received a bill with this address (venterrobang.com) on it, please comment at the bottom of the page and let me know where the bill was last used.

I decided to perform a social experiment using paper money.  This isn’t a new idea, in fact, there are entire websites devoted to this very concept.  I decided to put this site address on a few dollar bills, and send them out into circulation, in hopes that at least a few of them will be noticed and commented on.  I’ve set up this page to track these bills and map their travels throughout the city, state, country, and hopefully the world.  Feel free to join in and write this web address on the bills that you come into contact with as well.  If you’ve received a bill with this address on it, please comment at the bottom of the page and let me know where the bill was last used.

Isn’t it illegal to write on money? Not unless you’re making them “unfit for recirculation” and, according to Title 18, Section 333 of the United States Code, this is defined as “mutilating, cutting, disfiguring, perforating, uniting or cementing together, or doing anything else to a bank bill with the intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued”. So, if you’re only putting the “venterrobang.com” website address on the bill, you’re certainly not making it “unfit for recirculation.”

Thanks again for your participation in this little experiment!
