Episode 009: Venterrobangers and Smash

Welcome back, all you Venterrobangers, to the ninth official episode of the Venterrobang Podcast. This episode gives a basic overview of the state of Roller Derby in the Springfield area, an update on the changes that I have made to our website, my plight to coerce new guests onto the show, and is, as usual, sprinkled with a healthy amount of rabbit trail material along the way. I was so excited to get to sit down and talk with Lisa and Heather of Springfield’s Queen City Roller Derby at Springfield Skateland! They were such gracious guests and taught me much about the resurgent sport of Roller Derby. You’ll have to forgive my failures as a host as I was both anxious and starstruck in the presence of such amazing athletes and sex appeal. We hope they will become a Venterrobang Podcast staple going forward. Thanks again to Lisa, Heather, and the entire membership of the Springfield Queen City Roller Derby League for their patience and willingness to allow us this interview! We’re fans for life!

Our Ubuntu Linux app remains in development. It is currently functional, but ugly as sin. Oh, and if you want a Venterrobang Podcast logo on something like a T-Shirt or Mug, let us know and we’ll see what we can do. We’re also gearing up to record live at a few locations around the Springfield, MO area. If you’d like to be on the show, watch our Twitter/Facebook feed for times and locations.

I thought I would try to list some of the fine quality establishments that have been mentioned in this episode, along with a link if available.

Enjoy!
