Episode 011: War of the Wheels

Welcome back, all you Venterrobangers, to the eleventh official episode of the Venterrobang Podcast. This episode gives a basic overview of the state of Jonathan’s first encounter with Roller Derby in the Springfield area, our first Win a Hat by Matt winner, our first official sports segment with Karl Ray, my plight to coerce new guests onto the show, and is, as usual, sprinkled with a healthy amount of rabbit trail material along the way. I was so excited to get to share a night with my wife, and Jonathan, and Karl for some good old Springfield’s Queen City Roller Derby at Springfield Skateland! The teams were all fantastically entertaining and engaging during this last Double Header bout of the season. We hope to make Roller Derby a Venterrobang Podcast staple going forward. Thanks again to Lisa, Heather, and the entire membership of the Springfield Queen City Roller Derby League for their patience and willingness to allow us into their world! We’re fans for life!

Our Ubuntu Linux app remains in development. It is currently functional, but ugly as sin. Oh, and if you want a Venterrobang Podcast logo on something like a T-Shirt or Mug, let us know and we’ll see what we can do. We’re also gearing up to record live at a few locations around the Springfield, MO area. If you’d like to be on the show, watch our Twitter/Facebook feed for times and locations.

I thought I would try to list some of the fine quality establishments that have been mentioned in this episode, along with a link if available.

Enjoy!
